Day 34 --- The UE Rule

Objective: Recognizing that sometimes UE is pronounced as the long U as in cue sound or long OO sound as in blue.

You can think that the letter E in the following words is not pronounced and the letter U is pronounced as the long U sound or the long OO sound depending on which word.

From the last lesson, we learned that the letter U following G is not pronounced.

For the word suede, it is an exception that the letter U is pronounced as the W sound.

If the words ending with GUE or QUE, the UE is not pronounced as in vague and antique. See the silent UE rule for more examples.
