  Objective: Learning the long E sound and finding out the words troubling you
  1. Please read the tip on the long E sound.
  2. Remember the long E sounds is the letter e with a bar above as - and have the same sound as that of the letter E itself.

  4. In the following words, the silent E rule applies. Sometime people have a hard time saying the long E sound with a consonant such as week because it requires to prolong the sound. Therefore, when you practice this sound, exaggerate the sound a little bit and it will help you when you speak at a normal speed. In the following example, I want to show you that the letter E in "ield" is pronounced as the long E sound. Very often, we have difficulties pronouncing vowels with different consonants. If you feel comfortable pronouncing a word, you can remove the word by pressing the delete key.
If you feel the need to practice a word, you can add the word by clicking the Red Arrow button.

You will need to invest 15 to 30 minutes a day to go through the list. It may take a week for you to go through the list. Don't worry about whether you remember the pattern or not because you will remember it later.
