Day 17 --- The Long I Sound

         
   
  Objective: Learning the long I sound and finding out the words troubling you.
  1. Please read the tip on the long I sound.
  2. Remember the long I sound is the letter i with a bar above as 1 and have the same sound as that of the letter I itself.
  3. Click here to see all the patterns for the long I sound or right click the list box to choose a pattern.
  4. In this example, if the letter I is followed by ND, then I is pronounced as itself. If you learn the word bind, you can apply the pattern to remember that the letter I is pronounced as the sound of the letter I itself.
