Lesson 36 --- The Voiced and Unvoiced Sounds

         
   
  Objective: Learning which consonants are voiced and which are unvoiced.
  1. Learnig which consonants are voiced and which are unvoiced is important because it guides you to say the ending S sound and the ending ED sound.
  2. The voiced consonant sounds are b, d, g, v, z, dh, and zh.
  3. The unvoiced consonant sounds are p, t, k, f, s, th, and sh.
  4. The additional voiced consonant sounds are j, r, l, y, and w.
  5. The additional unvoiced consonant sounds are h and ch,
  6. The nasnal consonant sounds which are voiced consonants are m, n, and ng.

You will need to invest 15 to 30 minutes a day to go through the list. It may take a week for you to go through the list. Don't worry about whether you remember the pattern or not because you will remember it later.
